Not Jules Dalou’s « Triomphe de la République » but the Morice brothers’ « Le monument à la République » at Place de la République. The location corresponded to the gate of the Temple’s bastion, in the walls of Charles V de France, Charles the Wise or “le Sage”, which dates from the fourteenth century.
Today, France’s triumphant republic hosts there pro-same-sex attraction exhibitions by a children’s amusement space.
